Manitou machines get Australian standards tick of approval
Manitou is to introduce its range of Maniscopic ORH rough terrain materials handling machines to the Australian market following their impressive performance in complying with the country’s stringent design registration standards for access platforms.
The only full range of machines of their kind to enjoy this status in Australia, the compliance further strengthens Manitou’s position as the world leader in rough terrain materials handling and a manufacturer of state-of-the-art equipment.
The Maniscopic MT 1340 and 1740 ORH (or standard models fitted with attachments) offerings have been successfully employed in the European market for a number of years and are available locally through Manitou’s national distributor, NTP Forklifts Australia.
Ideally suited to the construction and maintenance industries, the MT 1340 and 1740 ORH models combine three functions in one – standard materials handling and lifting with the added bonus of a detachable access platform – or basket.
Furthermore, the platforms provide safe working conditions at great heights, with the MT 1340 and MT 1740 enjoying a 15-metre and 19-metre working height respectively. Both have a four-tonne lift capacity and a 365-kilogram basket capacity that comfortably accommodates three people.
An added feature is the Mono Ultra controls within the detachable basket, giving those in the basket total control of the machine. Mono Ultra technology incorporates a single joystick with numerous control buttons – a single multifunction lever, if you like – versus the standard numerous levers and adds to ease of use and safety.
Other safety features include the machines' hydraulic stabilisers that form a wide base and guarantee uniform stability and frame leveling technology that allows the chassis to articulate when on rough and uneven terrain.
